This is an open call to artists across the world that offers US$25,000 in prize money and US$50,000 to finance the production of a site-specific project. The project will be exhibited at the Faena Arts Center (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in mid-2013. In addition, two special mentions will go to two other projects with a prize amount of US$500 each.
The jury will select the prize winner, who will receive US$25,000 in prize money and a maximum of US$50,000 to finance the production of a site-specific project that will be exhibited at the Faena Arts Center in mid-2013. In addition, two special mentions will go to two other projects with a prize amount of US$500 each.
The prize winner will be selected by an international jury of three experts: Carlos Basualdo, the Curator of Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and an Adjunct Professor at the IUAV University in Venice, Italy; Caroline Bourgeois, curator of the François Pinault Foundation exhibit, and Inés Katzenstein, the Art Department Director at the Torcuato Di Tella University. The jury selection will be supervised by Ximena Caminos, Executive Director of the Faena Arts Center.
The F Prize will be open to artists or artistic collectives who are invited to submit their projects for installations, sculptures, the graphic, technological or audio arts or combinations among these different expressions.
“We have launched this prize in order to promote artistic experimentation, providing artists with an opportunity to create site-specific projects of an enormous size that will interact with the Faena Arts Center, a unique space within Buenos Aires because of its history and style,” explains Ximena Caminos, Executive Director of the Faena Arts Center and the Coordinator of the F Prize jury.
