About In Search of Meaning – The Human Figure in Global Perspective
The exhibition entitled In Search of Meaning – The Human Figure in Global Perspective researches the significance of the human figure in a global context. Questions about faith, the fall of the Wall and the demise of communism - the world underwent radical change toward the end of the previous century, but the end of the ‘grand narratives’ left us with empty hands. How should we live? Worldwide, artists are falling back on the human figure to communicate their deliberations on being human, beginning with themselves. Ethical and existential questions are arising in a time in which blueprints for life are absent.
This program is organized by curator Anne Berk, sculpture network Coordinator Netherlands
