Deadline - 5pm Friday October 7th, 2011.

Situated in the North West of Ireland within a rich and diverse rural landscape the Leitrim Sculpture Centre - located in the market town of Manorhamilton, North County Leitrim - is a major resource for the advancement of skills and knowledge in traditional, contemporary and experimental visual arts. LSC supports the material practices of artists and furthers creative engagement with the wider contexts of place and community.
Leitrim Sculpture Centre in association with Leitrim County Council Arts Office, are offering five residencies to visual artists in 2011/12.  Each residency has a total value of €4,500 and includes all costs attached to the residency. Each residency is supported by provision of studio space in Leitrim Sculpture Centre, along with access to all the facilities and basic technical support. Only one residency will be considered for an artist from outside Ireland.

Residencies fall into two types and these may also overlap
a)    Residencies to support artists wishing to develop or extend the boundaries of their own professional and technical skills and/or practice. It is envisaged that two residencies would fall within this category.

b)    Residencies to support artists to lead engagement with places / people / industry / groups / communities or landscapes in Leitrim (to be suggested or identified by the artist in their proposal). It is envisaged that three residencies would fall within this category.
